Scrap Metal Sculptures - How Much Do They Cost
Scrap metal sculptures are not inexpensive, especially if they were created by reputable and recognized artists. We predominantly offer sculptures by well-established artists with whom we have been working for many years and for whom we can guarantee to provide quality works. We are also continuously searching for new artists but we always check a particular sculpture in person to be able to offer our clients only the best of the best. But as much as prices are concerned, we leave them up to the artists to decide.
From our experience we can tell that artists who have created a name in the world of scrap metal sculpturing generally charge more for their creations. The price itself tends to vary greatly from one artist to another as well as from sculpture to sculpture. They usually set the price on the basis of several factors. The first factor is, of course, the sculpture itself. The sculptures the artists are most proud of are understandably pricier than all the others. Potential emotional value of a particular sculpture for the artist is another factor that may play a role in its price. All artists live from selling their works, however, they do not easily give away the finest pieces they have created. And if the sculpture was inspired by a special event or a special person, the emotional value for the artist increases and subsequently its price as well. Other factors the artists pay attention to when setting the price is the amount of time they spent to create the sculpture as well as the level of skill and knowledge it required to be completed. The more complicated and time consuming the sculpture the higher the price.
Newly emerging artists often tend to undervalue their sculptures from some sort of respect from the “authorities“. But on the other hand, they have no choice if they want to sell their works in the first place. The thing is that most people would choose a renowned artist if they would choose between their sculpture and a work of an established artist for the same price regardless of the artistic value of the sculpture. Unfortunately, it just the way it is in the world of arts. It is like you would be given an option to choose between a painting by an unknown artist from 17th century and a Rembrandt. You probably would not spend much time comparing both paintings and trying to determine which one looks better, would you? But then again, we are not living in the age of unknown artists and just because a particular artist did not yet create “a name“ this does not necessarily mean that he or she will not do so in the future. And this makes scrap metal sculptures by newly emerging artists an excellent opportunity to get your hands on the finest pieces at significantly lower prices. We have seen their works and we honestly believe that they will soon be among the most respected scrap metal sculptors.
